“The second edition of the International Sport Film Festival has given us many satisfactions and many interesting insights for the future. The best part is definitely meeting the kids, 1500 from local schools, who watched the selected works in the cinema and met the sports champions. Seeing their joy, their enthusiasm, and their curiosity in asking questions to the champions makes us realize that this is the right path and that the festival is doing its job. I thank all the champions who attended, with a really special final evening with Nando Gentile, Sergio Donadoni, and president Gianfranco Maggiò in the hall, legends at the service of sport. See you next year, we are already working,” say D’Auria and Sorrentino.
A large number of athletes were involved this year: from Salvatore Maresca, international artistic gymnastics champion, to Vincenzo Santillo, ultra-marathon runner, to Francesco Esposito, 9-time world rowing champion, to Pino Porzio, multi-medaled Olympic water polo player, Angela Procida, world champion in the 200 freestyle Paralympic swimming, Gaia Farriciello, 10 years old but already a multi-world champion in Latin American dance, Gianni Sasso, paratriathlete, soccer coach, world record marathon holder, Rio 2016 Olympian, and marathon trainer motivator, a delegation from the Juve Stabia soccer team, and via video message also champions from GeVi Napoli Basket and Givova Scafati Basket.
This edition was also enriched by the International Sport Book Festival, with presentations of biographies and novels in the presence of the authors and the featured champions such as “FurOri Azzurri” by Christophe Mourey, “Palombella Gloriosa” by Pino Porzio, “Campioni per sempre” by Gianfranco Coppola.
