The Nomad is an 18-minute documentary made between Morocco and Switzerland by director Nick Danielson. Produced by Mireia Mirò, it tells the sporting and personal story of Elhousine Elazzaoui, a Moroccan athlete and leading figure in international trail running.
The documentary focuses on Elazzaoui's sporting rise as winner of the Golden Trail World Series, following his path from his first steps in the Moroccan desert to competitions among the Alpine peaks of Ticino. Born into a nomadic family, he began running as a child, developing a natural endurance that later became competitive talent.
Through interviews and running scenes in extreme natural environments, the film also introduces those closest to Elazzaoui: his father M'Hamed, his brother Ahmed, and friends including Elio Raveglia and Mohamed Lili, who have accompanied him on his human and sporting journey.
The film's message goes beyond sporting achievement. The Nomad shows how personal determination, the strength of relationships and cultural identity have helped form an athlete respected not only for his victories but also for his values.
The documentary, completed in April 2025, is neither a student project nor a debut work. It was filmed digitally, with cinematography by Joel Badia. No distributor or premiere date has been announced so far.
