The International Sport Film Festival preview continues in Campitello Matese
Following encounters with Michele D’Aversa, Guido Cavaliere and Antonello Merola, this afternoon turns to para-athletics and Campobasso FC
CAMPITELLO MATESE – Cinema and sport, images and testimonies, united by a single theme: sharing the values of friendship, inclusion and participation. Following yesterday’s opening event, Monday 10 August, the International Sport Film Festival 2026 preview continues today in Campitello Matese.
The first afternoon, hosted at La Piramide, combined sports-themed audiovisual screenings with contributions from leading figures in Molise’s sporting community.
The day’s guest was Michele D’Aversa, a FISI Level II STF alpine skiing coach. He shared his experience in skiing and highlighted the importance of work in schools. This work is essential in encouraging children and young people to take up sport, discover new disciplines and understand their educational and developmental value from an early age.
Other speakers included Professor Guido Cavaliere, former president of CONI Molise, and Antonello Merola, a Level III federal alpine skiing coach.
Cavaliere thanked the International Sport Film Festival for its commitment to spreading positive values through cinema. He highlighted the ability of audiovisual storytelling to raise public awareness of important issues such as inclusion and the right of people with disabilities to take up sport.
Antonello Merola focused on the decisive role of schools and the need for adequate facilities. Italy continues to face challenges in this area, despite competing at a high level with highly organised countries such as the United States, France and Austria, which have advanced systems for introducing students to sport during compulsory education.
A shared message emerged from the contributions: sport must be accessible to everyone, and cinema can make a tangible contribution by conveying its educational power and encouraging knowledge, exchange and inclusion.
Today’s encounter with Stefano Ciallella and Campobasso
The preview continues today, Tuesday 11 August, from 5 to 7 p.m., again at La Piramide in Campitello Matese.
The guest at this second event will be Stefano Ciallella, Technical Director of the Fiamme Azzurre Para-Athletics section. His contribution will focus on Paralympic sport, athletes’ determination and sport’s ability to overcome obstacles and barriers.
Campobasso FC will also be represented by General Manager Giuseppe Praticò and Marketing Director and Social Media Manager Andrea Zita. It will be an opportunity to meet the public and speak particularly to young people, promoting participation in sport and football’s positive values: commitment, respect, team spirit and a sense of belonging to a community.
The afternoon will feature sports films and audiovisual works, together with trailers for ‘Running with the Wolves’, the television series about Campobasso FC.
The preview on 10 and 11 August is organised by the International Sport Film Festival in collaboration with the Municipality of San Massimo. It marks a step towards the event’s fifth edition, scheduled for 23–28 November 2026 in Castellammare di Stabia.
